Camel Heritage Village

Main Gate Tent: A Cultural Welcome in Tensile Form

Commissioned by Saudi Aramco and executed under Azmeel Contracting, this landmark tensile structure was designed as the grand entrance to the Camel Heritage Village. The project aimed to create an iconic cultural symbol that merges Saudi heritage with modern structural design—welcoming thousands of festival-goers in a short timeframe.

Tamimi Steel & Membrane delivered full turnkey services, fabricating custom tensile membrane structures for four separate zones. High-grade PVC fabric was stretched over galvanized steel frames, supported by masts, cable bracing, and modular footings—allowing for rapid, secure installation in desert conditions.

Each zone was engineered for crowd flow, shading, and quick assembly, with modular construction supporting efficient deployment and dismantling.

  • The tented gate acts as both a functional and symbolic entry point. The design references traditional Bedouin tents, using modern materials to project national identity. The sweeping forms and clean fabric lines offer both shade and architectural elegance.
