KAFD Structural Core – Engineering the Future of Riyadh’s Skyline
The King Abdullah Financial District is a flagship mixed-use development and a central hub for Saudi Arabia’s financial future. Within this visionary project, Tamimi Steel & Membrane was commissioned to execute core structural steel works across several high-rise zones—playing a vital role in the district’s urban skyline and structural backbone.
Tamimi carried out the fabrication, painting, and installation of complex steel systems for three critical zones, including high-elevation frameworks, steel bridges, and façade support elements. The work involved custom-built sections and precise coordination for multi-level towers and long-span connections.

Zone 2 featured a superstructure erected at 52.5 meters, requiring complex crane operations and accurate sequencing. The steel was engineered to handle façade loads, atrium spans, and transitional cores across high-rise buildings.

Although not the primary facade contractor, Tamimi’s steel assemblies formed the supporting backbone for curtain wall systems and elevated glass elements, ensuring structural compatibility with architectural finishes.
